Your training environment and your learning environment

The training workshop offers a great basis for gaining basic manual skills and experience in working with metal. You produce practice pieces and create metal workpieces based on technical drawings. The extensive machine park allows you to learn both conventional and CNC-controlled milling. This means you can work directly on large projects for our customers. The training welding shop has ten fully equipped welding cabins that can be staffed in parallel and enable you to learn directly from your fellow trainees. Certified welding machines for TIG/MAG/MMA welding, plasma cutters and modern welding helmets with automatic extraction ensure a safe and professional working environment to pave the way for you to become a welding talent. Modern office equipment with ergonomic office chairs, height-adjustable desks and the latest technology are available for your training.

Trainee meet-up-day at the start of training

Every year, before the official start of training, a trainee meet-up-day takes place, where the new and existing trainees get to know each other in a relaxed setting outside the company. With lots of fun, team spirit is strengthened through various activities and the new trainees are integrated into the group right from the start. Whether building a raft, canoeing, scavenger hunt, downhill scooter ride or bubble soccer: Everyone is enthusiastic about it and supports each other so that all the tasks are completed and all the trainees arrive at their destination together. This means the new trainees can hit the ground running from day one and have access to a good trainee network.

Trainee projects

In trainee projects, we enable our trainees to realize projects together across different job profiles. From the initial idea to project planning and implementation, everything is in the hands of the trainees. In the course of this, they gain important experience in project management, which can then be used successfully in their later professional lives.

FAQs

School grades are important; but they are not everything. We like to see for ourselves whether someone is a good fit for us and whether they have the potential to complete their training with us successfully. Therefore, you are just as welcome with a secondary school diploma as with a high school diploma. No matter what kind of school qualification you have: The motivation has to be right. We need to feel that you are passionate about your chosen career. If you are, you will overcome all the hurdles and achieve a very good result.
You should always be well-informed about the respective job profile and should be sure that you see yourself in the requirements mentioned. Can you imagine having fun doing this job for a long time? If you can answer this with a 'yes', you have come to the right place.

If your performance during the in-house training and at school (grade average of at least 2.0) warrants it, we will happily make it possible to shorten the training period. Due to the extended final exam in most of the training occupations, the shortening takes place at the end of the training period.

Training begins on September 1st of each year.

We cannot give you a guarantee of acceptance. However, we train so that we can cover our need for skilled workers from within our own ranks. This means you have a good chance of being employed after your training. The takeover rate of 85% highlights that this has been successful in recent years.

The aim of the interview is to get to know each other better and for us to find out more about you. Therefore the interview takes place in a relaxed atmosphere. Nevertheless, you should prepare for the interview. It would be helpful if you thought about the following questions, for example:

  • How did I become aware of the apprenticeship?
  • Why do I want to take on this apprenticeship?
  • What considerations/thoughts did I have when choosing the career profile?
  • What kind of person am I?
  • What am I particularly good at?
  • What inspires me?
  • What demotivates me?
  • What do my family/friends value about me?
  • What does WEHRLE actually do?

You probably also have a lot of questions. Feel free to write these down and bring them with you. There is enough time to answer all your questions. You should plan for about 90 minutes for the interview.

WEHRLE offers you the opportunity to get to know our various apprenticeships throughout the year during an internship. Simply send us your application with a cover letter, the desired internship period and a CV to karriere(at)wehrle-werk.de . You will then receive prompt feedback as to whether we can offer you the internship position at the desired date.

There is no fixed application deadline. However, to increase your chances, you should send us your application in the summer, if possible, one year before you want to start your training.
